If you have property that you have inherited, a failed business partnership or bought with an ex and you disagree on how to divide or sell or tired or paying taxes and insurance on property you never visit or use. A partition suit may be the answer.
Multiple individuals owning property together is fairly common. Unfortunately when this happens is is very common that conflicts arise on how to manage, sell or use the property. When this happens, a partition suit may be your own solution. ANYONE who co-owns property (even 1% ownership of property) can file a petition for a partition action.
Under Tennessee law, a Court can force the sale of property to make sure you get your fair share. Recent changes have allowed the Court to have several different options of how to sell the property to get the most out of it.
